Throughout the winter we have been doing Food Intervention, a project where we dumpster on Saturdays and make food on Sundays.
Meeting time is at 1pm at the Coop Sur Genereux for both days.
The food we make is then distributed to homeless and women’s shelters. We especially need people on Saturdays, if you’ve never dumpstered before it’s a great opportunity to learn with some more experienced divers!
Friday night we dumpstered and hit a gold mine, and spent all day on the lawn out front of the CEDA centre washing, chopping, prepping, and cooking. A beautiful day to be had under the shade of a couple of trees and in the company of beautiful rad people.
Saturday (today, just about an hour ago) we once again hit another gold mine! 40 green peppers, 30 tomatoes, 15 bags of raisins, 5 potatoes, 10 heads of lettuce, 10 cucumbers, 20 bananas, 20 oranges, 10 apples, 10 pears, 8 packs of pita, 12 croissants, 3 packs of raspberries, 2 packs of blueberries, a pack of chili peppers, 2 blocks of old cheddar (one of our vegan ninjas indulges in “recovered” cheese), some arugula, a pack of cranberry cookies, and more!
Sunday promises to be another beautiful day sharing the bounty with Montreal’s radical activists and thinkers, join as at CEDA 2515 Delisle!
